WSU is ranked No. 1 in Best Online Graduate Business Programs. The evaluation includes the WSU online master’s of business administration and Executive MBA programs. Other universities in the top 10 ranking include Arizona State University, Indiana University, University of Florida, California State University, Central Michigan, Auburn University, University of Connecticut, University of Texas and University of Tennessee.

“This ranking affirms the very high quality of Washington State University programs as well as the increasing viability and demand for online education,” said WSU President Elson S. Floyd. “The College of Business working with the WSU Global Campus – our fifth campus – already is making great progress in spreading the wide-ranging educational resources of our university to students throughout the world.”

WSU created the WSU Global Campus in July 2012 as a way to expand the scope and selection of degree programs offered online and to enhance the educational experience of online students. WSU has offered the MBA degree for more than 50 years, with graduates occupying leadership positions in all fields of business.

The U.S. News and World Report rankings were based on student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology. New this year was the peer assessment, rated by business school deans, top distance learning higher education academics and for-profit institutions with some of the largest online business degree programs.

“To be rated No. 1 … is a confirmation that we are offering working professionals outstanding graduate programs with the flexibility they need to be successful in their careers and personal lives,” said David Sprott, associate dean for graduate, international and professional programs in the WSU College of Business.

“The interaction between the exceptional global business leaders enrolled in the WSU online MBA programs and their connections to the faculty are what make the teaching and learning community vibrant and relevant and keep us connected to the demands of today’s ever changing environment,” said Cheryl Oliver, director of the college’s graduate programs.

“This recognition is evidence that the College of Business has delivered on its strategic investment in online education,” said Dean Eric R. Spangenberg. “The reputation of our faculty and the outstanding staff we have supporting these programs illustrate our dedication to delivering programs that are second to none.”

“Receiving this recognition from our peers is an honor and distinguishes the uniqueness, rigor of our programs and world class reputation of our faculty,” Oliver said. “To see so many great schools at the top of this list is a testament to the company we keep.”

The online MBA program is for students who may or may not have an undergraduate degree in business, with varying levels of work experience, and who wish to obtain deeper knowledge by earning concentrations in international business, finance and marketing. The online executive MBA requires at least seven years of managerial work experience.
