An edge for future entrepreneurs

The department hosts the annual Business Plan Competition, which stands among the largest and most rewarding such competitions in the country. It provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to develop and present a business idea. As a contestant, you interact with students, investors, and entrepreneurs from around the world.

The Center for Entrepreneurship involves you in entrepreneurial experiences, so you gain the vision and practical knowledge needed to start a venture of your own.

Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship (MISE)! Our highly-regarded programs offer excellent preparation for students at the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. levels.

Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized researchers and dedicated teachers who bring a great deal of skill, enthusiasm, and commitment to the classroom.

We are also fortunate to have a dedicated network of alumni that mentor students, offer internship opportunities, and recruit our students into high quality full-time positions at great companies in Washington and beyond.

We proudly host two of the Carson College’s signature events:

  • The Business Plan Competition, which provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to develop and present a business idea and to interact with students, investors, and entrepreneurs from around the world;
  • The Business Technology Symposium, where students hear from, network, and exchange ideas with IT industry executives from companies such as ESPN, Visa, Costco, Starbucks, F5, and the Seattle Seahawks.
