Continuing Students

Nearly all Carson College of Business scholarships are awarded using the WSU General Scholarship Application. Priority deadline for these scholarships is January 31, and award notifications are sent mid-spring for the next academic year.

Several specialty scholarships, including Study Abroad Scholarships, have different priority deadlines and a separate application. You can find more information and the applications by clicking the buttons below.

FAQs

Specific requirements vary by scholarship. In general, students must be a business major or intended business major and in good academic standing. Need based scholarships require that the student has completed a FAFSA or WAFSA application for the appropriate academic year.

Most Carson College of Business scholarships are open for applications from August through January. Notifications are sent mid-spring semester for those awarded funds. Scholarships awarded in spring are for the following academic year, and funds will be applied to your account appropriately 10 days prior to the start of the term.

Study Abroad funds are applied to your account appropriately 10 days prior to the start of the term. This date is regulated by Federal Financial Aid guidelines and cannot be changed. Most study abroad trips require some payments before the start of the term of travel – it is the student’s responsibility to cover these expenses while waiting for scholarships to be dispersed.

Our scholarship team works closely with Student Financial Services to ensure that awarded funds do not exceed Cost of Attendance. Scholarships, grants, and loans cannot exceed the total Cost of Attendance estimate for the semester. If you have questions about how scholarships may impact your financial aid and costs, please contact Student Financial Services.

The majority of scholarships are from generous donors who want to support Carson Cougs! As a part of the awarding process, you will provide some information for the donors so they can get to know a bit about the students who received their scholarship.
