Joe Guptill

Over the last 25 years, Joe Guptill (’98 Mgmt. Info. Sys.) held executive roles in the seafood and pharmaceutical industries before becoming CIO of DTG Recycle and the CEO and owner of VMS Technology, a tech solutions company. In 2024, he became the CIO at Guimont Capital, a private commercial lending company. He focuses on creating technology-driven customer solutions that align with the company’s mission to provide flexible funding options. Guptill holds an MBA in technology management from the University of Washington.
Jason Stefanski

As CIO, Jason Stefanski (’98 Mgmt. Info. Sys.) is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and direction of technology for GeoEngineers. This includes managing technology initiatives and being a mentor to several other group leaders. After graduating from WSU, he worked his way up through the technical ranks at several companies, rounding out his experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, entertainment, intellectual property, ecommerce, and engineering.
Since joining GeoEngineers, Stefanski has continued to grow professionally, earning an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT. He is also actively involved in several technology leadership communities, including AEC IT Leaders, ACEC IT Forum, and the Seattle CIO Community. Stefanski’s interest in mentoring carries over to his personal life; he’s been a soccer coach for more than 20 years.
