This workshop presented by Allen Sutton, Ed.D – Executive Director for Office of Outreach and Education, introduces participants to the concept: “Diversity Is Being Invited to the Party; Inclusion Is Being Asked to Dance.”

Using correlations between learning to dance and owning a more inclusive, well-meaning mindset, this workshop addresses the issues surrounding race, the role of diversity and inclusion in our society and workplace and the premise of privilege and its role in interrupting bias. In a world where any kind of mistake concerning race can cause upheaval or send people into retrenchment, this workshop can help you get progression moving again, out of polite awkwardness and into a new and rewarding effectiveness.

For credit, submit a reflection discussing what you learned, how it broadened your perspective on equity and inclusion in the workplace, and how you will use the knowledge learned to make yourself more inclusive person in the business world.
