Looking for a meaningful career that will take you around the world? Hoping to make a difference? Want something that’s more than a job, but a lifestyle?
Then consider writing your life’s story as a diplomat.
Meet Dara Yin — Diplomat in Residence for the Northwest (Alaska, Oregon, and Washington) to find out how.
Learn more about paid internships, fellowships that fund graduate school, and career opportunities with the U.S. Department of State. Get to know what life is like as a diplomat overseas.
All academic majors have a role in diplomacy. Graduates from all fields have become successful Foreign Service Officers and Specialists. Career fields include Information Technology, Administrative Management Affairs (Human Resources, Financial Management, Facility Management, General Services, Procurement/Contracting, Medical, including Laboratory Scientists, Nurses, Physicians and Physician Assistants), Law Enforcement and Security (Diplomatic Security Special Agent), Public Affairs/Diplomacy, Economic Affairs, Political Affairs, and Consular Affairs.
