Declare a Minor

The Carson College of Business offers the following minors

• Business Administration
• Entrepreneurship
• Event Management
• Hospitality Business Management
• Human Resource Management
• Wine and Beverage Business Management

To Declare a Minor You Must:

• Be certified in a major
• Have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA

Who is Eligible for Business Minors

The course requirements for a minor are distinct from a student’s major requirements. Because of possible overlap in major and minor requirements, some students are not eligible for some minors.

Business Administration minor is available only for:

• Students with a major outside the Carson College of Business

HBM and WBBM minors are available only for:

• Students with a major outside the Carson College of Business
• Business Students with the major of Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Marketing, Management, or MIS

Human Resources and Entrepreneurship minors are only available for:

• Students with a major outside the Carson College of Business
• Business Students whose major is HBM or WBBM

The Process

First, verify that you meet all requirements listed above, then visit the Carson Center during drop-in advising hours to learn more about the requirements for the different business minors and to submit a request to declare your minor. Once your request is submitted and processed, the requirements for your business minor will appear on your myWSU Academic Requirements report.
