Admission for Students with 30+ Transfer Credits

For new students who are transferring to WSU with 30 or more semester credits,
there are two pathways for admission into the Carson College.

Direct Admission Eligibility

Upon first enrollment at WSU, students who transfer in all of the following requirements are eligible for direct admission into the Carson College:

  • At least 30 semester credits with a GPA of 2.50 or higher
  • Math 106, 171, 201, 202 or equivalent with the grade of ‘C’ or higher
  • ECONS 101 or 102 with the grade of ‘C’ or higher

Degree Requirement Modifications

  • Carson Career Amplifier Program: Instead of completing standard Tiers I-IV, you will complete Crimson Pathway I & II
  • Waived Courses: B_A 100, B_A 102, and HBM 101 (except HBM majors)

Standard Admission Eligibility

If you do not meet the Direct Admission requirements, you may be admitted through the Standard Admission process and must complete these requirements:

  1. A grade of ‘C’ or higher in the following courses:
    • B_A 100 Intro to Business (3 cr.)
    • HBM 101 Professional Development for the Business World (1 cr.)
    • B_A 102 Exploring Bus Careers (1 cr.)
    • MATH 201 Mathematics for Bus & Econ (3 cr.) (substitutes: MATH 140, 202, 171, ALEKS score of 80+)
    • ECONS 101 OR 102 (3 cr.)
  2. Carson Career Amplifier Program Crimson Pathway I
  3. WSU cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher and not on academic probation

Degree Requirement Modifications

Carson Career Amplifier Program:
Instead of completing standard Tiers I-IV, you will complete Crimson Pathway I & II

When/How to Apply

BA 102 – Apply for admission into the Carson College and declare your major in this class.

ADVICE:

  1. Request official transcript from ALL institutions where you earned college credit be sent to the WSU Admissions Office.
  2. Learn how your credits and/or past degree will transfer to WSU and check the WSU Transfer Clearinghouse to see how your classes equate to WSU courses.
  3. Register to attend Alive! Orientation to learn about WSU resources (look for the Alive! for Transfer Students)
  4. Attend Week of Welcome Carson College Kickoff to learn more about the Carson College, resources, requirements, and expectations for all new business students
