Who is this forum for?

The WA State Tax Forum was designed to give anyone working with Washington State taxes insight, education, and networking opportunities.


Where am I going?

In-person participants will meet in the SPARK building in room G45 on the WSU Pullman Campus. The reception and awards dinner will be in the CUB Sr. Ballroom. See the map for locations.


By attending, am I eligible for continuing education hours?

YES! This forum has applied for both CPE and CLE credit hours. You must be present and active to achieve credit hours. There will be a sign-in and sign-out sheet for in-person attendees each day. For online participants, there will be a Zoom poll after each session that you must respond to. Credit hours must be verified and submitted to the governing agencies; this process can take 4-6 weeks.


What are the perks of participating in person?

In-person attendees will be provided diverse networking opportunities, access to in-room coffee and snacks, lunch on both days, a hosted reception, the awards dinner, and a no-host welcome reception.


I can’t come in person. Is virtual an option?

YES! We want to reach as many people as possible with this valuable content. You can participate fully remotely. All sessions, including breakout sessions, are streamed live via Zoom. We will conduct a Zoom poll at the beginning and/or end of each session to monitor your participation for CPE and CPU credit-hour purposes. We also have opportunities for virtual participants to ask questions live in the room and have a dedicated chat monitor to answer any submitted questions.


Is this recorded?

No, the forum’s value is primarily in real-time interactions. If panelists choose to release their slides, participants will receive a related informational email after the meeting. We encourage you to take good notes and ask your questions live.


I want to learn more about the accounting department and the Hoops Institute of Taxation Research and Policy at WSU.

Great! The WSU accounting department holds AACSB accreditation and supplemental accounting accreditation, one of only approximately 185 accounting programs around the globe. Our department offers an industry-relevant curriculum, cutting-edge research, student events, internships, and job placement. In addition to our flagship undergraduate accounting degree, we provide a rigorous PhD program for experienced accounting professionals; our PhD graduates consistently accept tenure-track positions at highly regarded universities. The Hoops Institute of Taxation Research and Policy integrates tax policy research and policy into the curriculums at WSU, supports WSU-based tax research, and builds connections between tax academics, practitioners, and policymakers with a particular focus on creating better tax policies in Washington. What if I need special accommodations?

We strive to eliminate barriers to participation. If you have mobility or learning conditions, please get in touch with the event manager, Angie Senter, at angie.senter@wsu.edu as soon as possible for accommodations. Day-of accommodations will be minimal. For dietary concerns, all meals will be served buffet style so that you can choose accommodations that are right for you. All meal menus will be listed on the morning of each day; please review these, and if they do not meet your specific needs, please refer to the on-campus dining options listed on our travel page for additional options.


What if I can’t afford the registration fee?
