ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS WITH TRANSFER CREDITS
Admission into WSU and the Carson College of Business is a two-step process:
- Apply for Admission to WSU:
- Did you earn credit while still in high school (i.e. Running Start, Dual Credit)?
Apply as a freshman. - Did you attend another institution of higher education?
(Transfer institutions must be AACSB Accredited if you are intending to transfer any upper-division courses)
Apply as a Transfer Student. - Are you an International students transferring to WSU?
Apply as an International Transfer Student.
- Did you earn credit while still in high school (i.e. Running Start, Dual Credit)?
- Apply for Admission into the Carson College of Business:
- For students entering WSU in fall 2020, based on your transfer courses, you may be eligible to apply for admission into the Carson College of Business when you first enroll at WSU. If you transfer to WSU all of the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for admission into the Carson College of Business *
- At least 30 semester credits with a GPA of 2.50 or higher
- Math 106, 171, 201, 202, or equivalent (with grade of C or higher)
- ECONS 101 or 102 (with grade of C or higher)
- If you don’t have all of the requirements listed above at the time of transfer, don’t worry! You can apply for admission into the Carson College at a later date.
- For students entering WSU in fall 2020, based on your transfer courses, you may be eligible to apply for admission into the Carson College of Business when you first enroll at WSU. If you transfer to WSU all of the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for admission into the Carson College of Business *
* Starting in fall 2020, if you are admitted into the Carson College of Business when you first enroll at WSU, your degree requirements will following our new business requirements; however, they will be slightly modified as follows:
- Your Carson Career Amplifier Program (CCAP) will be abbreviated; the Crimson Pathway.
- You will be exempt from taking BA 100, BA 102, and HBM 101 (except for HBM majors)
**Students who transfer to WSU prior to fall 2020, will follow the curriculum requirements in place at the time of admission. Your academic advisor will evaluate your transfer work and let you know if the new business curriculum would be in your best interest. You have the choice to select either the requirements at the time of your admission OR the new curriculum requirement. However, the modifications listed in #2 above do not apply to you.

Activities You Should Do Prior to Transferring to WSU
A Carson College of Business degree involves more than just taking classes. A Carson College degree also focuses on professional development, networking, career exploration, and developing skills/experiences that will set you apart from the rest of the competition. Before you transfer to WSU, here are a few things you can do to prepare:
- Become an active member in business clubs at your high school or community college.
- Take on leadership roles in a club or community organization.
- Research career options to learn from industry professionals. This can be done through in-person information interviews, video information interviews, or job shadows; all of which will give you an insider’s perspective on what a job/career is really like.

Your first year will be focused on completing your UCORE & Business Admission requirements, including:

Courses that must be taken at WSU (6 credits): NOTE: Students on the Vancouver, Tri-Cities, and Global campuses will take BA 211 (3 cr) & BA 212 (3 cr) instead of BA 201-206. Courses that can either be transferred to WSU or taken during your first year at WSU: |
Your Next Steps:
- Send your official transcript from all institutions where you have earned college credit to the WSU Admissions Office.
