Carson Center Group Scheduling FAQ
Why is the Carson Center conducting group advising this semester?
The Carson Center advisors would like to spend more time in advising appointments talking to our students about academic success strategies, professional development, study skills, study abroad opportunities, and helping students plan for their future. In addition, we want to provide better one-on-one services to those students that need it the most. In order to make time in our appointments to talk about these topics, we are changing our approach to advising. The group scheduling sessions help teach students to navigate my.WSU better while freeing up additional time for our advisors to have more meaningful conversations with the students who do want to meet individually.
Do I need to attend a group scheduling session? I prefer to meet one on one with my advisor.
Yes. In order to have your hold removed, all students with an advisor in the Carson College of Business must attend a group scheduling session. However, you are encouraged to make an appointment with your advisor on CougLink to discuss topics besides course schedules for fall 2016. In addition, if you still have questions after attending a scheduling session, feel free to come into the Carson Center any weekday between 9:00am and 4:00pm to speak to our drop-in advisor.
None of the times on the registration website fit into my schedule. Should I schedule an advising appointment on CougLink?
If none of the times on the registration website fit into your schedule, please contact the Carson Center for Student Success . We will open up more sessions as the ones listed fill up, and staff in the Carson Center should be able to let you know the times and dates of upcoming sessions.
I am a double major. Which session should I choose?
Please pick a scheduling session for either one of your majors in the Carson College of Business.
