WSU, Chick-fil-A Announce Tuition Assistance Partnership

for Online MBA, Executive MBA

Oct. 26, 2016

PULLMAN, Wash. — Thanks to a newly announced educational partnership between Washington State University (WSU) and Chick-fil-A Inc., a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is now more affordable for Chick-fil-A’s team members and their families.

As part of Chick-fil-A’s Remarkable Futures initiative, the WSU Carson College of Business will waive the standard $75 application fee and offer 10 percent in tuition assistance to the company’s team members who wish to pursue their online MBA or Executive MBA (EMBA).

Team members’ spouses and dependents also can claim benefits from the program.

“We’re thrilled about the opportunity to partner with an organization as dedicated to higher education as Chick-fil-A,” said Cheryl Oliver, assistant dean, Online & Graduate Programs. “Collaborations like this help to underscore WSU’s commitment to increasing the availability and reach of our world-class education, and we anticipate that this partnership will benefit many current and future students working toward an MBA or EMBA.”

The Remarkable Futures initiative, which is open to employees of Chick-fil-A Inc. properties and franchises and STC brand restaurants, comes as part of the corporation’s expanding investment in college education. In 2017, the company anticipates providing nearly $5 million in scholarship funding to its team members and their families.

Since 1973, Chick-fil-A Inc. has supported founder S. Truett Cathy’s devotion to team members’ education. In the past four-plus decades, the company has provided scholarship assistance to nearly 36,000 team members totaling nearly $36 million in aid applied at more than 3,000 schools nationwide.

Prospective students who wish to take advantage of the Remarkable Futures benefits at WSU must meet the minimum admissions requirements for the online MBA or EMBA program. Chick-fil-A team members who already are enrolled in the online MBA and EMBA programs can begin using the 10 percent tuition assistance immediately.

WSU’s online MBA program is internationally designed to prepare future business professionals to be leaders on a global scale. Students can study a general MBA track or choose one of four in-demand concentrations: finance, marketing, hospitality business management, and international business. For established professionals looking to climb higher in the business world, WSU offers a top-ranked online EMBA focused on executive leadership.
