Entrepreneurial Cougs Win Big on the Circuit

Each spring, WSU student entrepreneurs gather their bright teammates, their innovative ideas, and their fledgling ventures and show them off on university campuses across the Northwest. The yearly collegiate business plan competition circuit is a place to demonstrate academic prowess and entrepreneurial skill, and win some big titles and cash prizes.

This year, WSU student venture teams came away with the following titles and prizes:

University of Washington’s annual Hollomon Health Innovation Challenge
Team

Accolades
Appiture
Seeks to revolutionize the detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children with an inexpensive and easy-to-use hardware, combined with a phone application.
Second place and a $12,500 digital health merit prize.
Also representing WSU at the Hollomon Health Innovation Challenge:

BioMech
Developed the GripGlove, a low profile robotic glove that improves dexterity and grip strength for people who have loss of hand function.

Crimson Medical Solutions
Developed a device that groups and labels intravenous (IV) lines that will help ICU nurses create a more organized, safer environment for patients.

DevCo Diagnostics
Created a one-step cancer diagnostic device capable of multiple detection from a human serum sample.

All Aboard
Developed an app and website that will be the Airbnb for boats.

Crimson Medical Solutions
Developed a device that groups and labels intravenous (IV) lines that will help ICU nurses create a more organized, safer environment for patients.
