Step 2: Global Learning Advisor |

At least 2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
Meet with your Global Learning Advisor to discuss your timeline, programs, and identify your first and second choices.
Not sure if your program is a program provider or exchange? Make sure to attend a Global Cougs 101 session.
Step 3: Academic Advisor |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss potential classes for your term abroad. It is highly recommended to have 2-3 backup classes identified as well.
Step 4: Courses Abroad |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
Familiarize yourself with the courses offered on your first-choice program via their website.
Step 5: Carson College Courses |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
Use the CCB Course Equivalency Dashboard to compare the courses on your program to any pre-approved WSU equivalent courses to determine if the business courses you plan to take are offered and/or approved. Make sure to read the Terms and Conditions for using the dashboard.
Step 6: Course Evaluations |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
If there are courses listed on your program that you are hoping to take that are not listed on the dashboard, retrieve syllabi from your program and submit them to the CCB Course Equivalency Dashboard at the bottom where it says “submit your request for course evaluation here.” You will be notified whether the course will fulfil a CCB course via e-mail. Please allow 2 weeks after submission.
Step 7: Study Abroad Application |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
Once you know that all the courses you plan to take are offered on the program and you have at least 2-3 backup courses approved, start your study abroad application for the program through the Global Learning Office.
Step 8: Review |
2-3 terms prior to your departure for exchange programs
1-2 terms prior to your departure for program providers
If the program you have chosen does not have the courses you need, repeat steps 4-6 with your second-choice program.
Step 9: Course Pre-Approval Form |
1 term prior to your departure
Work with your academic advisor to have the Course Pre-Approval form signed with all your approved course options. This form is required before you leave for your program and is crucial for getting your credits transferred back to WSU appropriately.
