Becoming A Carson Coug

Admission to Carson College of Business

Your first milestone as a business student is being admitted into the Carson College of Business and officially declare your business major. To do so, you must complete a set of admission requirements and submit an application. Most students complete their admission requirements in their second or third semester. Students coming to WSU with more than 30 semester credit hours may be eligible for direct admission.

New WSU Students transferring 0-29 college and/or test credits

B_A 100, HBM 105, ECONS 101 OR 102, and MATH 201 or higher* with a C or better.
Minimum 2.5 cumulative WSU GPA
Minimum 27 semester credits
Completion of Tier 1

*Or ALEKS score of 80 or higher or approved substitutions for MATH 201 or 202.

New WSU Students transferring 30+ college and/or test credits

You will be eligible to be admitted when you first enroll at WSU if you meet the following criteria:

30+ semester credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.50+
Math 106, 171, 201, 202, or equivalent with grade of C*
ECONS 101 or 102 with grade of C

By meeting the above requirements, you will not need to complete B_A 100 or HBM 105*.

If you do not meet the criteria for direct admission, you will need to complete the following requirements for admission:

B_A 100, HBM105, ECONS 101 OR 102, and MATH 201 or higher* with a C or better.
Minimum 2.5 cumulative WSU GPA
Minimum 27 semester credits
Completion of Crimson Pathway 1

*Students in the School of Hospitality Business Management are still required to complete this course.

The majority of our scholarships are awarded from the WSU General Scholarship application, and we have several specialty scholarships that can help with everything from housing to studying abroad.
