You’ll learn to identify and evaluate business opportunities, develop comprehensive business plans, and master financial management and venture financing. You’ll also dive into marketing strategies, build leadership and teamwork skills, and navigate the legal and regulatory landscape. Most importantly, you’ll cultivate an innovative mindset essential for launching new ventures or driving innovation within existing organizations. Graduates often pursue careers as startup founders, business consultants, marketing managers, and financial analysts, working in diverse industries like tech, finance, healthcare, and retail.
ENTRP 485 New Venture Planning
Learn what it takes to create and grow a new venture; how to evaluate opportunities, develop growth strategies, obtain venture financing, and building a management team.
ENTRP 486 Launching New Ventures
Students in this class participate in the WSU Business Plan Competition (BPC). The WSU BPC is an unparalleled opportunity to practice entrepreneurship in a real-world setting and receive guidance as you launch a new venture, plus a chance to win thousands of dollars in prize money!
ENTRP 489 Entrepreneurial Management
Learn about the analytical, financial, and interpersonal skills needed to effectively manage an entrepreneurial venture.
ENTRP 492 Small Business Strategy & Planning
Students in this class run Carson Business Solutions, a student consulting firm, that pairs small businesses and nonprofits with student teams. With mentoring and guidance from faculty and volunteer coaches, student consulting teams provide plans that will enable businesses to improve and grow. Carson Business Solutions provide more than 700 hours of free consulting services to qualifying businesses each year.

Held every April, the WSU BPC gives students a chance to hone their pitch; sharpen their communication skills, network with industry professionals, and learn what it takes to step into the world of an entrepreneur. Fund your Education through Scholarships
The Carson College of Business awards more than $1,000,000 in scholarships each year. Scholarships are available for both new and continuing WSU students. Applications are collected through the WSU General Scholarship Application.
