Steps to apply
The WSU One Year Data Analytics MBA program starts each August and is completed the following July. Admissions received before February 10 will receive priority consideration for scholarships and other forms of financial support. The college accepts applications until June, however applicants should start the application process before their last semester in order to allow for a review of student transcripts, completion of the nine program pre-requisites, and to prepare for GMAT testing.

1. Complete the WSU application
Submit the $75 application fee (USD, non-refundable) with the WSU Graduate School application.

2. Submit three (3) letters of recommendation
We want to hear from people who can gauge your potential for success in the program. If you have just finished your undergraduate degree, we would like to hear from:
- Advisor of any organization in which you held a leadership role
- Academic advisor
If you are a working professional, we want to hear from your supervisor and next-in-line supervisor. If you are at the top of your organization, please submit a letter from someone on your advisory board. We’d like each reference to evaluate your preparedness and aptitude for graduate studies. Check your my.wsu.edu account to ensure that your letters have been received.
3. Write a statement of purpose
This document is similar to a cover letter. In a single page, tell us why you want to earn an MBA, describe the strengths you offer to the program, and explain why you want to attend WSU.
4. Submit your resume
Submission of your resume is required. We’ll review it to evaluate your volunteer experiences and how they might contribute to your educational experience.
5. Mail your transcripts
Transcripts are required from each institution at which you have enrolled and completed courses. A copy of your unofficial transcripts from every college and university that you have attended is acceptable for the application review process however official transcripts will be required for enrollment (see below). If you have a copy of your transcript from your Registrar’s office in your possession you can email them as a pdf file to firstname.lastname@example.org. Web printouts of transcripts are NOT acceptable. Official transcripts are required for all applicants who have received final notice of admission from the Carson College of Business Office of Graduate Programs. These official documents must be received within your first semester at WSU directly from the registrar of the named schools on your application. Official transcripts are those received directly from the registrar of the institution attended to the Carson College of Business Office of Graduate Programs. We will accept transcripts via mail and electronic transcripts from U.S. institutions via the official electronic transcript process of the registrar’s office of the institution. In the case of electronic transcripts, the applicant should provide the registrar with the following email address for corresponding with the Carson College of Business Office of Graduate Programs regarding electronic transcripts: email@example.com. All transcripts sent to the Carson College of Business Office of Graduate Programs as part of the application process become part of the official application file and cannot be returned or transferred. When using a shipping service such as Fed Ex, UPS, or DHL, please utilize the Carson College of Business Office of Graduate Programs’ physical address to ensure receipt:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
- For international students: Completed English language proficiency documentation (e.g.,TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE)
You must complete a list of prerequisite courses before you can be admitted to the program. If you have an undergraduate degree in business administration from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited business school, you have met all the prerequisites. If you have taken a few business courses, we will complete a course-by-course evaluation when you apply. It’s to your advantage to apply early.
The course numbers listed are WSU catalog numbers. If your degree is from another institution, the course numbers will be different.

To enroll in the program you are required to complete the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which measures your ability to communicate and solve problems.
How your score is applied
We don’t require a minimum score, but all students must meet the following formula:
- GPA x 200 + GMAT= 1150 where the minimum GPA is 3.0
Where to take the GMAT
GMAT testing is offered Monday through Thursday by appointment at University of Idaho (8 miles east of WSU). To make an appointment, contact the UI Career Center. Alternatively, you can find a range of test dates and locations online. More information about the GMAT GMAT study tips
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and similar tests measure your ability to read, write, and comprehend English. If you are an international student, you must submit the results of one of these tests as part of the application process:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum paper-based 580
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum internet-based 92
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum 7.5
- Intensive American Language Center (IALC) minimum 6.5
- Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) minimum 90
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) minimum 62
The Carson College will consider waiving the test if you earned your most recent degree (at least a 4-year bachelor’s) from a U.S. college or university or an institution that provides 100% of instruction in English. * Applicants from Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Canada, Guyana, Kenya, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago are exempt from the English proficiency requirement.
