Dear friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the end of the spring semester draws near and we prepare to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students, it\u2019s a natural moment to reflect on the experiences that shape a Carson College education. In this issue of eDividend<\/em>, we highlight the international opportunities that prepare our graduates for life beyond Carson\u2014experiences that broaden perspective, deepen understanding, and help our students and alumni thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin this issue with alumni stories featuring Ella Spillane<\/a> and Amit Bedi<\/a>, whose work across entrepreneurship and global industry reflects the long-lasting value of global business training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to her professional work as a portfolio development principal at Boeing Ventures, Spillane (\u201921 Intl. Busi.) founded Trailbound Yoga, a venture that pairs backpacking with yoga and emphasizes connection to place, culture, and community. This summer, she will guide her clients on a backpacking trip in the Dolomites of Italy. Her story highlights how international business education can inspire globally-minded initiatives that extend well beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive MBA graduate Amit Bedi (\u201924 EMBA) applies the strategic leadership skills he developed at the Carson College as a principal technical program manager at Collins Aerospace, where he leads global safety and reliability teams across multiple continents. By combining advanced engineering experience with business training, Bedi has helped drive process improvements, integrate emerging technologies into program management, and guide complex international collaborations\u2014demonstrating how Carson\u2019s Executive MBA prepares professionals to lead at the intersection of technology, strategy, and global operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also feature Clara Sandell, whose undergraduate study abroad experience in Thailand<\/a> helped her developed cross-cultural empathy and practical communication skills that are shaping how she approaches both teamwork and leadership. She says the experience pushed her beyond familiarity, strengthening her confidence, adaptability, and empathy in ways the classroom alone could not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International experiences are not limited to our students\u2014our faculty build strong international connections through their research, contributing to global conversations and strengthening partnerships with institutions around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through his research expertise on gambling, Associate Professor Kahlil Simeon-Rose<\/a> is advancing international partnerships with organizations in Canada and Germany that monitor and manage the practice. His scholarship underscores how global cooperation can inform policy, improve oversight, and address complex challenges that transcend borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor Joseph Scott Gladstone<\/a> was recently invited to the University of Melbourne to serve as an elder advisor in the Indigenous Academy on Research in Management and Organization Science. In this role, he provides mentorship and peer review services to doctoral students and early-career scholars, contributing to international dialogue around Indigenous approaches to organization and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, these stories reflect a shared commitment to preparing students, scholars, and professionals for a globalized business landscape. I invite you to explore this issue and see how Carson College continues to enrich business education through global engagement\u2014creating connections, fostering understanding, and preparing leaders who are ready to make an impact anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
