John (JJ) Johnson joins the Carson College of Business as a director of development 4. He brings extensive management and fundraising experience from his career overseeing collegiate athletics across the country, including a 15-year stint with WSU Athletics, where he served in various leadership roles. He most recently served as athletic director at Portland State University and held previous leadership roles at the University of Nebraska, Weber State University, and Eastern Washington University. He holds both a BA and MBA from EWU. In his free time, Johnson enjoys playing fetch with his dog, watching his kids play sports, and repairing his childhood car, a 1965 GTO.
