At the Carson College of Business, our strength comes from the power of our community—not only our faculty, staff, and students, but the 38,000-plus alumni and friends who share our vision for providing a first-class business education and contributing to a diverse and vibrant Pacific Northwest economy. Alumni from around the globe have told me how their time as WSU business students led to lifelong friendships and professional networks. Northwest Holiday Retail Survey – 2021

Many Pacific Northwest residents are excited to return to in-store shopping, according to the Carson College’s 5th annual holiday shopping survey. While residents feel more optimistic then they did last year, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a tremendous impact on consumer behavior, and perceptions towards safety protocols differ greatly across the region, the survey found.

Gift Endows Program for Student Success in Accounting

A $3.5 million gift from an anonymous donor has established the WSU Carson College of Business Endowed Program for Student Success in Accounting. The program will focus on helping accounting students with communication and leadership skills development, career consulting, and networking opportunities. It will also support operations, recruiting efforts, and employee salaries within the program.

Global Accounting Student Learns to Embrace Passion for Art

Jenny Trujillo, an accounting major at WSU’s Global Campus, has two sides to her personality—an analytical side with a talent for problem-solving, and an adventurous, creative side with a passion for travel and art. Throughout her life, it seemed like she had to choose one or the other. But her journey to WSU taught her that she could embrace both sides of herself, leading to her paintings being featured in the 2021 issues of WSU’s student-produced art journal, LandEscapes.
