Faculty Academic Resources

All campuses at WSU have moved away from face-to-face classes through the remainder of the semester. We know that this is driving us to think in new and different ways to deliver on our mission and to serve our student’s needs. Below are some resources that can be used to help with the transition.

AOI is continuing to offer a robust suite of trainings throughout spring semester in an effort to provide ongoing support for teaching students at a distance.

Upcoming spring trainings include:

  • Teaching from a Distance – Strategies and Best Practices
  • Community Building & Connection with Students at a Distance
  • Tools of the Trade
  • Blackboard Learn
  • Grade Center
  • Rubrics and Assignments
  • Tests and Quizzes
  • Become a Panopto Master
  • Become a Zoom Master
  • Perusall – Proactively engage students in reading and provide a focus of conversation with automatically graded annotations.
  • Voice Thread – Learn how to engage students in robust asynchronous conversations as they interact with their peers.

Staff Training Resources

There are a variety of classes employees can complete to improve their individual skills.
Topics include but are not limited to: Are there classes your employees could take to help improve their skills?

HRS offers a variety of training opportunities through the Skillsoft Online Learning system. Options available include, but are not limited to: Customer Service, Staff/Faculty Recruitment Basics, Fiscal Management Resource, Supervisory Training, Research Administration.

The University provides a variety of training’s that can be taken as a refresh of current skills to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures:
