Have you ever wondered how the Atrium Caf\u00e9 comes up with our special of the week?<\/strong> One way we like to distinguish ourselves from the other coffee shops on campus is by having a new specialty drink every week. We are located in the heart of Todd, on the first floor outside of the Carson Center for Student Success.<\/span><\/p>\n

As public relations manager at Atrium Caf\u00e9, my favorite part of my job is creating specials for customers to enjoy new flavor combinations and get out of their comfort zones with their typical coffee order. We know how expensive coffee orders can get, so we try to provide an option that will be delicious, fun, and affordable! I love getting feedback on which ones are the most popular and receiving new ideas and suggestions from our team members<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the factors we like to consider are the seasons, holidays, previous specials, and brand new flavors. We all know that with new seasons come new cravings! Classic specials at Atrium Caf\u00e9 include the pumpkin spice latte (PSL) for fall, peppermint mochas for winter, lavender lattes for spring, and Italian sodas for summer. Atrium Caf\u00e9 also always takes dead week and finals week into account as we serve a variation of the americano\u2014the most caffeinated drink!<\/span><\/p>\n

A recent special was the St. Patty\u2019s mocha, which included our dark chocolate sauce with creme de menthe flavoring. I wanted to play off of St. Patrick\u2019s Day holiday to create a version of the peppermint patty. The chocolate sauce created the outside layer, and the creme de menthe created the peppermint, which gave it a green hue. We topped it off with whip cream and green sprinkles. No one was able to pinch you on St. Patrick\u2019s Day as long as you had this drink by your side!<\/span><\/p>\n

Atrium Caf\u00e9 will be hiring our newest team members at the beginning of fall 2020. Applications will go out in early August via email and can be turned in to the Hospitality Business Management (HBM) office in Todd Hall 342 during the first week of school. Applications are available to all HBM majors and minors. We are looking forward to adding more coffee lovers to the team!<\/span><\/p>\n
