Carson College of Business CougsFirst! Seattle Alumni & Employer Connections

2nd Annual WSU CougsFirst Seattle Alumni & Employer Connections Event

What is CougsFirst?

CougsFirst! is a non-profit business network encouraging Washington State University alumni and friends to think CougsFirst! for products and services. Every spring, CougsFirst! hosts a show in Seattle, where 200-300 WSU alumni -owned,-managed and -affiliated businesses have the opportunity to reconnect, network, and discover new opportunities in a positive business environment.

WSU Partnership

In 2016 WSU partnered with CougsFirst! to leverage the business atmosphere and networking as a professional development opportunity for current WSU students. Last year was the first year taking 40 business students from the Carson College of Business to CougsFirst! to practice their networking skills and build valuable industry connections.
This year we have expanded our partnership to include Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture and the WSU Academic Success and Career Center.

Student Benefits

You will have the ability to network with business leaders from the Pacific Northwest. Students will have the privilege to hear from HR professionals from T-Mobile, BECU, and McKinstry on how to navigate their career as an undergrad. The following day, selected students will participate in two industry site visits to T-Mobile, Payscale, McKinstry and Starbucks, to explore the company culture and discover the world of work through these site tours.

This Year’s Expectation

This year we are expanding the amount of WSU students to approximately 80 to 100 student participants from the Carson College of Business, the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, and the WSU Academic Success and Career Center to promote career exploration and building connections.
